Google Chrome Integrates Flash
Great news for avid users of Google Chrome: one of the quickest internet browsers available on the web. Adobe has just announced that it will be integrating Adobe Flash directly into the Chrome browser, this means no more external plug-in downloads for users who wish to facilitate flash into their browser.
There has been a lot of buzz around Adobe in the media lately, notably between Apple and Adobe with Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) refusing to embrace the technology for Apple’s smart phone range, and new iPad.
What does this say about the future of Adobe Flash?
With HTML5 in the works as we speak, the new markup language is said to accommodate a feature that allows ‘multimedia’ code formats capable of supporting video in browsers.
Google has already publicly declared its support for the HTML5 standard – so is the decision to integrate Flash with the Google Chrome browser just a stunt to appease the Adobe fanatics? And furthermore, does the shift towards HTML5 signify the end of the ‘Flash website era’?
This is definitely something to keep an eye on – particularly if you’re operating a flash website.
